About me

I lead, design, and manage research initiatives as the research director to further the purpose of the hospital. The position includes creating and directing research plans, supervising the research team, and locating potential funding sources. I have been in charge of leading the hospital’s research and development division, managing team members, and managing data gathering, analysis, and distribution. I have three case teams in my Directorate, study and publication, Evidence Generation and Documentation, and Research and Clinical Service integration case teams. As their name indicate they all are entitled to analyzing data, gathering and comparing resources, ensuring facts, sharing findings with the whole research team, adhering to required methodologies, performing fieldwork as needed, and keeping critical information confidential. They all report to my office. I have solid research and analytical background, and I have outstanding writing, editing, and oral communication skills. I have shown leadership, initiative, problem-solving skills, and organization while also being a devoted team player. I served as the trial coordinator and site principal investigator (PI) for the UCL STREAM stage 2 evaluation of the Standardized Treatment Regimen of Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs for Patients with MDR-TB (STREAM) (MRC-CTU). Several journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, have published this.  I have been site PI for the ICOS study, International Observational Study of Outpatients with SARS-CoV-2 Infection /International SARS-CoV-2 Infection Observational Study (ICOS) as of June 2021 till date. I have conducted over 40 research projects, of which 15 have been published in prestigious publications and others are in progress. During the COVID era, I was the team leader for the emergency response and planning division, which included a component for evidence gathering and documentation. I am a core participant in the formulation of the strategic plan as a member of the hospital’s Senior Management Team (SMT). My extra responsibilities have included setting the hospital’s strategic goals and policies as well as tracking how well they are being implemented. In the cases of TB, HIV, MDRTB, and leprosy, I am serving as the principal consultant and the trainer. I contributed to the creation of important hospital documents like the TOR, guidelines, grant writing manual, and SOP for the research directorate.  I participated in the hospital’s first strategic plan, and I am now in charge of the second one, which is currently being implemented. I currently serve as the one of the team leader for System Bottlenecks Focused Reform (SBFR), a recently developed and highly effective nationwide pilot project that will primarily target and address major bottlenecks at the system (hospital service delivery) level. Focus is also placed on establishing between key stakeholders explicit strategic alignments and integrations with established roles and responsibility frameworks. Through the introduction of major and demonstrable positive system changes on access and quality of clinical, diagnostic, and pharmaceutical care, this effort will generally help improve hospital clinical care results and client satisfaction. Specifically, it will help improve institutional culture of leadership and accountability practices, digitalize hospital’s clinical and non-clinical care processes and improve data quality and performance management, improve institutional efficiency gains and system integration and improve access and quality of clinical, diagnostic and pharmaceutical services. Currently I am consultant of A study name Social Determinant of Health/SDOH project.
